Unitree G1 Basic – A Compact Humanoid Robot for Getting Started with Robotics
The Unitree G1 Basic provides a versatile humanoid robotics platform for education, demonstrations and getting started with bipedal robotics. With 23 degrees of freedom across the legs, arms and waist, it is capable of a broad range of natural humanoid movements. The knee joints deliver up to 90 Nm of maximum torque, while the arms are designed to carry loads of around 2 kg. A depth camera and 3D LiDAR provide environmental perception, complemented by Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity. The G1 Basic is particularly well suited to universities, training courses, trade fairs and showrooms, as well as anyone looking to explore and demonstrate humanoid robotics in a practical, hands-on setting.

Easy to use for demos and showcases
The Unitree G1 Basic is designed to provide a straightforward introduction to humanoid robotics. Rather than using a complex robot control system of its own, the user utilises existing operating states and motion functions. To commission the robot, it is first positioned securely, switched on and, following the boot-up process, brought into a controlled state via damping and the ‘Ready’ state. The motion control can then be activated. Operation is firmware-dependent, which is why the key assignments for the specific software version installed must be observed. This makes the G1 Basic particularly suitable for trade fairs, showrooms, training and movement demonstrations, where rapid practical use is more important than low-level programming.
